Family Matters: A Journey to Healing
Recently, my father suffered a serious accident that resulted in a broken hip. His beloved companion, Skippy, was taken to animal control. While my father was sent to rehab after his hospital stay, I found myself in a challenging situation. Having just welcomed a new baby, I was unable to travel to pick up Skippy from animal control and bring him to Utah with us. A friend suggested I contact S.T.E.V.E.S., and they sprang into action. They swiftly picked up Skippy from animal control and placed him in a caring foster home for the night before he joined us in Utah. We are incredibly grateful to S.T.E.V.E.S. for ensuring Skippy received the transport, care and love he needed in such a traumatic situation. Skippy will be with us until my father can return home to Florida.

The unwavering love and support from the S.T.E.V.E.S. community enabled us to keep our cherished pet during a challenging financial crisis. After our mother passed away, her beloved cat remained in Florida at her home. I knew I wanted to provide her with a soft landing, but the costs of bringing the cat to Ohio were overwhelming, especially with all the funeral expenses and arrangements.
Fortunately, I was referred to S.T.E.V.E.S. They sprang into action, and by the end of the week, the cat was safe and sound in our arms in Ohio. We are eternally grateful for their kindness and generosity. They transformed a tumultuous time in our lives into a blessing. Remarkably, there was no charge for their help; all we did in return was make a small donation to support the next helpless little victim.

"Our friend Darin the goat suddenly stopped using his back legs. He is just a few weeks old. Our volunteer worked diligently to keep his muscles from atrophy, massaging them, helping him stand and visit with his other goat friends . She has been bottle-feeding him day and night. Darin could not have made it this far without the help from this superstar volunteer."

"When I went to the local rescue to adopt a cat, there was a homeless man trying to retrieve his dog from the shelter. He was arrested for loitering. They needed to charge him $10 per day, (2 days) a rabies shot, and a county license tag. Totaling $65, it may as well have been one million dollars. He didn't have it. Of course, We stepped in to pay the fees he received his baby back in his arms. He stated he had nothing left in this entire world, expect his dog. Right then and there we knew there was a need for S.T.E.V.E.S. to be started.
